How is the nightlife in Skiathos? I know, you are booking your holidays on a Greek island, and you are amazed by the many beautiful islands, but besides beach life, you would also like some evening entertainment, and you are not sure if Skiathos offers enough nightlife.

Skiathos is a small and beautiful island to visit for its beaches and the nature it has to offer, take a look at my guides to not miss some of its stunning gems.
However, let me warn you that you should not expect a wild party scene in Skiathos; the nightlife is there, and I will talk about it in this article, but it is more relaxed.
The main night scene is led not by clubs but by small discobars and mostly outdoor bars, mainly located along the old port promenade. In fact, some of the most famous ones are along the staircase promenade that starts at the end of the old port, where you can relax with a drink on comfortable cushions or benches covered in cushions!
Where is the nightlife in Skiathos?

Yes, because if you are interested in some nightlife without headaches, the only option is to stay in Skiathos Town.
The nightlife in Skiathos is, in fact, all concentrated around the old port area. Adjacent to the seafront, in addition to the beautiful promenade, you will find a series of bars and some discobars with music at a higher volume.
However, there isn’t always the atmosphere for dancing, when I was there the small dance floor was always empty 😆
To chat, have a drink while watching the sea or the boats, talk, and meet new people, the atmosphere is certainly more suitable!
If you walk in the opposite direction, towards the east and the so-called new port, about two kilometers along the coastal road that leads towards the airport, you will find a series of classy restaurants and one or two small nightclubs that aren’t open every night and probably only in peak season. I saw them closed at the end of August.
If, on the other hand, you prefer walks to sitting down, don’t miss a stroll along the nearby Papadiamantis street, Skiathos’ main pedestrian street, which starts right at the east corner of the old port. It has everything, from restaurants, cafés, small shops, to street musicians.
Nightlife Style in Skiathos
Skiathos is an island mainly hit by young couples or families, with a very small number of groups of single men or women.
In fact, the island has everything it needs to present itself as a super romantic island, starting from its small, cozy beaches and relaxed atmosphere, to the peaceful harbor lit up in the evening, inviting you to take a stroll or sit on those cushions, and not last the sunsets over the sea and the small, colorful, and quiet streets of the center.
So, if you are traveling as a couple, seriously consider a vacation in Skiathos, it will leave a lasting impression, without stressing your budget too much! 🙂
Where is it best to choose accommodation?
There are no particularly noisy areas around the venues in Skiathos Town, so there is no need to stay far from the action to sleep peacefully.
For those who want to enjoy the nightlife of Skiathos, it is enough to choose accommodation not too far from the port, and there are plenty of options since the town center is easy to walk around.
Here are some examples of accommodations with good value for money and great location:
- Armonia Guest House: rooms with private bathroom and fridge, up to 4 people, at a great price. Some also have a kitchenette;
- Pension Pineapple: rooms up to 6 people with private bathroom, near the main road with bus stops and at the entrance of the Papadiamantis pedestrian street. Free wifi and parking, pets allowed.
- Atlas Hotel Skiathos: in a truly central location along Papadiamantis street, hotel with modern decor, air conditioning, free parking and wifi.
- Hotel Kostis: one-star hotel with room service, wifi, and rooms for 2 or 3 people.
Skiathos for singles?
If you are single and eager to meet new people, I wouldn’t say it will be impossible, but it will be less likely to find other groups of singles in Skiathos compared to other holiday destinations.
At least, the advantage is that the nightlife in Skiathos is all concentrated around the old port of Skiathos Town, so it will be much easier to spot other groups of singles with the same intentions (or bump into them unintentionally, believe me, it happens!), in 2 or 3 nights, you will already have seen same faces multiple times! 😆
Most of the young people you will find in Skiathos will be from neighboring countries of the former Yugoslavia, other Greeks from the mainland on vacation, groups of Russians, Italians, and English.
How much does nightlife cost me?
Although Skiathos is a very affordable island, where you can comfortably have lunch and dinner well for about 10-15 euros (or even less if you just want a great gyrospita to fill your stomach), you will need to spend a bit more during the evening.
The only thing about Skiathos that I would consider particularly expensive are the drinks in the venues along the port, including those with cushions. The average cost is at least 12 euros for each cocktail.
“Discounted” prices can be found at the first bars near the new port, at quiet bars with not-too-loud music, where you will often find families.
Finally…
Be careful! Everything I told you about the nightlife in Skiathos is based on personal experience during the end of August, a slightly less crowded period compared to a few weeks earlier but still quite populated.
