The Best beaches in Mallorca
SouthWest coast

Best beaches in Mallorca – Southeast side
Let’s start with the map that will help us identifying the best beaches in Mallorca SouthWest coast:
- Yellow pins mark the beaches you really can’t miss out, the ones you should visit if you are staying just one day in the southwest coast;
- Orange pins mark other nice beaches you can add to your list if you can afford two or more days here;
- Sometimes you’ll find also blue pins: these show the places where you should set your GPS to park the car when is not easy to find a place. If there’s no pin near a beach then it means you can easily find parking at the end of the nearest street!
Let’s then start with yellow beaches, the best beaches in Mallorca southwest:
Cala Vinyes
Score : 8/10
Facilities : Yes
Hard-to-reach : Easy
Cala Vinyes is a nice beach with light sand where you can find facilities, sunbeds with umbrellas but also a considerable amount of space to put your own towel, also under the shadow of some big palmtrees on the rear side. This “cala” is surrounded by rocks, where somebody also dips from; on one side there’s a garden, facing on the various hotels all around, that are actually too much here.
If you are into swimming and snorkeling, try going a little bit further than the first few meter, you’ll see a lot of fish into the clear water!
To get here, just follow the blue pin on the map. There you’ll find some places to park your car on the side of the street, then walk down following the signs for “Cala Vinyes”.
Cala del Mago
Score : 10/10
Facilities : Yes
Hard-to-reach : Easy
Let’s see now “Cala del Mago” , my favourite one on this corner of the island. This is a “double beach” : once you get to the end of the street (there’s enough space to park) if you step down on the right side you get to one “cala” usually chosen by nudists, if you step down on the left side you’ll get to another one almost identical in size and crowded by everyone else.
It’s a tight and confortable beach (I may say “intimate” also) and there is a lot of shadow under the pines. In high season it could be really crowded, so I suggest you not visiting it in the “hotter” days. Don’t go there too early in the morning or too late in the afternoon otherwise you’re gonna find the beach entirely under the shadow of the sideward rocks.
Water is so calm and brilliant, it’s going to charm you. You’ll probably see also fish swimming around your foot even in the first few meters. Just pay attention to the slippery stones while entering the sea! Try swimming a bit further also in this beach and you’ll see stunning things.
This beach if not overcrowded is also really quiet and relaxing, because of no roads or other sounds coming from behind, you can literally abandon yourself to the sound of the water slowly splashing on the rocks… like in a paradise beach!
Es Camp de Mar
Score: 8/10
Facilities : Yes
Hard-to-reach : Easy

In a list called The Best Beaches in Mallorca “Es Camp de Mar” needs to be put in. This is one of the largest beaches on this corner of the island. Here there will never be lack of space, also for your own towel, you can find all the facilities and a bunch of bar/restaurants also. Water is clean, calm and perfect for the entire family.
The thing you won’t forget about Es Camp de Mar is that in the middle of the bay there’s a little rocky island with a bar/restaurant on top and a footbridge to let you get in. The viewpoints from the restaurant and the footbridge are excellent, because you can view the entire bay.
Last but not least, prices of the drinks are not expensive, so an afternoon break to get something is recommended!
Then if you enjoy walking you can step on the west side of the beach, where you are going to find a very particular sundial and another little and wilder beach.
Now let’s move on with the second part of the best beaches in Mallorca’s, having a look at the ones that you can stick to your to-do list if you are staying in this part of the island more days and you want to see more. These beaches are marked with orange pins on the top map.
Cala Blanca – Costa de la Calma
Score : 7/10
Facilities : yes
Hard-to-reach : Easy

I want to recommend you this really tight beach (for real, it is about 10 meters) mostly for the sunset time rather than for the day. In that few meters they placed also umbrellas and sunbeds, I think that if you go during the day you’re not going to find a place to stay.
We’ve been here att the sunset without actually planning that and it definitely was a stunning view.
The beach looks towards west and you have chairs and sunbeds both on the beach and on an elevated walk on the side, so you can easily sit and enjoy your sunset while the sun goes down in front of you!
And if this is not enough for you, a few meters behind the beach there are some really relaxed chill-out bars : the day we’ve been there a musician was playing a perfect melody for the sunset: totally magic. If you have a girlfriend and you are going to ask her big things… this is the perfect time and place! 😆
Playa de Palmira – Sa Puntassa
Score : 7/10
Facilities : yes
Hard-to-reach : easy
Here another wide beach similar to Es Camp de Mar, bay shaped, with calm and clear water (maybe saying this is pointless, in Mallorca is hard to find dirty sea); it is the classic town beach, all around you have plenty of shops and restaurants. Anyway it is so wide that you can still stay far from the building and relax.
Playa de Santa Ponsa
Very similar to the previous one; we didn’t have enough time to reach it, so I don’t have neither a clear opinion nor pictures but from the information I found it looks like another good choice.
Playa de na Nadala – Palmanova
Score : 7/10
Facilities : yes
Hard-to-reach : easy
I wanted to add this beach too, that is one of the two beaches facing Palmanova town, because even if this is another classical town beach without particular naturalistic attractions, it is a very wide and well-kept beach with clean waters, so if you are staying in Palmanova or you are running around, it may be worth a visit.
